Description

DRV2 Distortion Pedal is the latest evolution of one of the most respected distortion circuits in modern pedal design. Built for players who appreciate touch sensitivity, clarity, and a wide range of usable gain sounds, the DRV2 delivers everything from barely-breaking-up cleans to thick, harmonically rich distortion that approaches fuzz territory. Rather than simply recreating the original DRV, this updated version refines the circuit with improved efficiency, lower noise, and expanded power options while preserving the character that made the original such a favorite.

The redesigned V2 circuit was originally engineered by Jon Ashley of Bondi Effects and further developed by John Snyder of Electronic Audio Experiments. The result is a distortion pedal that excels across its entire gain range, particularly at lower gain settings where note definition, dynamic response, and amp-like character remain intact. Whether you're using it as a transparent edge-of-breakup drive, a punchy rock rhythm sound, or a saturated lead voice, the DRV2 maintains impressive clarity and articulation.

Designed for modern pedalboards, the DRV2 can operate on either 9V or 18V power for additional headroom and flexibility. An internal bypass switch allows players to select between buffered and true bypass operation, making it easy to integrate into a variety of rigs. We especially like how the DRV2 balances refinement and character, offering a versatile gain structure that feels equally at home as an always-on foundation drive or a primary source of distortion.
