Description

What Makes This Guitar Special: Beginning with Kurt Cobain splicing together a Polaroid photo of a Fender Jaguar and a Mustang, his Jag-Stang is certainly a model that stands out in a crowd. The neck has been modeled after Kurt’s favorite Mustang and the guitar features the 24” scale length he favored and is found on both the Mustang and Jaguar. Outfitted with a humbucker in the bridge to make it suitable for Kurt’s style of playing, this design gives you the best of offset aesthetics and feel with electronics that are actually practical for modern music. The neck on this guitar has beautiful figuring, the left handed orientation is very rare, and this guitar would be suitable for both the player as well as a collector. Arriving with a great set-up by the experts at Cream City Music, this instrument will be coming to you ready to be played or stored for safe keeping by those who wish to invest in rare Fender guitars.

Cosmetic Condition: There are a few small dings around the waist of the body, a minor impression on the back of the neck, and there is a very small pock mark at the outer end of the headstock. The plies of the pickguard are separating along its outer edge on the treble side, as well. Likely due to a preference by the previous owner, the springs and their anchors have been removed from the underside of the tremolo and the guitar is currently operating as a fixed bridge only. The tremolo bar is also missing. Examine the photos carefully, but this instrument is in good condition overall- especially considering its age.

Neck: Slim profile maple with nice figuring. The neck shape itself is a copy from Kurt’s favorite Mustang. Rosewood fingerboard, Pearloid dot inlays, and black side dot markers. 21 frets show almost no wear whatsoever and have lots of life left in them. Fender classic style tuning machines are in perfect working order. 1.5625” nut width, 24” scale length.

Body: Solid basswood body, pearloid pickguard, chrome floating tremolo bridge with “dynamic” tailpiece. Guitar weighs 7lbs 15.5oz.

Electronics: Vintage Style neck single coil pickup measures 5.71K ohms and the bridge humbucker measures 7.40K ohms. Single volume and tone controls and individual switches for each pickup turning them on or off and in or out of phase. All electronics have been tested and are in perfect working order.

Case: Gig bag included.
