Description
What makes this guitar special: An absolutely spectacular, over the top creation from the Gibson Montana Custom Shop, this stunning Doves In Flight dreadnought is constructed of premium Adirondak Spruce along with gorgeous, Brazilian Rosewood sides & a back that is beautifully book matched. Stunning accoutrements add to its appeal, and since Gibson is no longer producing acoustic guitars with Brazilian rosewood, this one's a sure fire investment piece. In short - magnificent!
Cosmetic Condition: Aside from some light lacquer checking here & there, the guitar is in excellent condition with only mild surface scratches. One of the dove inlays in the headstock still has black lacquer over it. We called Gibson about it & they thought it may not have been scraped off at the factory. It looks a bit like a shadowy figure in the flock. Overall the guitar is in wonderful condition & only gently used. It was just recently acquired from the original owner who purchased it new & took excellent care of the guitar.
Neck: Nicely rounded, maple neck with beautiful flame figuring. 3-ply cream binding with black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl double dove inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. 3-ply bound headstock with mother of pearl dove inlays & Custom engraved truss rod cover. Gold Grover tuners with custom engraved buttons. Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock. 1 9/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in fine working condition.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid Adirondak spruce top with multiple binding & abalone purfling. The top shows off some really nice, wide grain patterns with natural dark streaks in wood. Ebony bridge with mother of pearl dove inlays. 2 1/4" string spacing at the bridge with cream end pins. Tortoise pickguard with intricate Doves In Flight motif. Multi-ring rosette with abalone inlay. Solid Brazilian rosewood sides & back with 5-ply binding & geometric center strip. The back is perfectly bookmatched & displays beautiful figuring in the rosewood along with wonderful variegation - nice chocolatey swirls in the grain. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 0.8 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with the original Gibson paperwork.
