Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a great Epi Les Paul that was only produced for about 10 years and features an absolutely gorgeous quilted maple top. Its Trans Amber finish does a fantastic job highlighting the true depth of the maple figuring, creating a stunning overall appearance. The pickups sound great in all three positions from the big and chunky neck to the meaty middle and the crisp bite of the bridge. The neck is a very easy C shape and will be a familiar shape to a wide variety of players. Plus, for being over 10 years old, this guitar is in great shape and plays the same.
Condition: This Epiphone is in very good condition overall. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, and scratches, but is still in great shape for being over 10 years old. There is a good-sized crack in the back electronics plate, but stays in place just fine and does not split open when pressure is applied. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Single cutaway mahogany body with an alder cap and quilted maple veneer in Trans Amber finish. Cream top binding. Chrome tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Amber bell control knobs.
Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Chrome Grover tuning machines. 1.68” nut width. 24.75” scale length.
Electronics: Alnico Classic and Alnico Hot humbucking pickups. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 8 lbs 1.1 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar plays as easy as any with a shape that size that will likely be comfortable and familiar to a large variety of players. The humbuckers sound good and provide a great range of tone from the warm and full neck to the crisp chime of the bridge.
