Description

What makes this guitar special: Considered by many to be the pinnacle of Gibson’s ES line, the CS-336 is a perfect marriage of the 335 and a Les Paul. The back, sides, and center block are carved from a single piece of solid mahogany, affording outstanding resonance, while the top is carved from solid maple, which blends beautifully with the mahogany construction. The resulting tone is warm and resonant, with just the right amount of attack, and brilliant sustain. The thinline body is only 13 inches wide, and weighs in at just a touch over 7 and a half pounds, making it perfect for long nights of playing. Like all our instruments, it has been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play. The CS-336 is not currently offered as a regular production model, but can be obtained new through the Custom Shop for upwards of $6,000. This piece is in super clean condition with very little wear to speak of, so save yourself the money and snap this one up today!

Cosmetic condition: Excellent shape! This piece shows only some light surface scratches and marks from handling, in addition to some nominal pickwear on the pickguard. There is also a bit of flattening in the clear coat on the back of the neck between the 9th and 12th frets, and some scratching on the headstock overlay.

Body: Semi-hollow construction with dual f-holes in Tangerine Burst finish. Solid back, sides, and center block, carved from a single piece of mahogany. Carved solid maple top with 4-ply black pickguard, and black pickup bezels. Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece.

Weight: 7 lb, 9.2 oz

Neck: Chunky ’59 profile one-piece mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets almost no wear at all. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo and crown. Gibson Deluxe vintage style tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.

Electronics: Dual ’57 Classic humbuckers (Bridge-7.69k ohms, Neck-7.74k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and vintage style tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.

Case: Original hard shell case included, along with Certificate of Authenticity.
