Essentially new old stock, this gorgeous bass is super clean, in new condition with the original shipping box & case candy! This traditional Rickenbacker bass style with dot inlays and no binding was prized by Paul McCartney and Chris Squire when they got their first 4001S models in 1964. Players cherish its traditional look and rounded edges that many claim make it more comfortable than the 4003. The updated 4003S version comes with the improved dual truss rod system. Of course, the famous solid bass tones, ringing sustain and treble punch make it a dream to play. This design was once exclusive to the British distributor Rose Morris in the sixties. Iconic curves of maple form the body with a traditional rosewood fingerboard. Dot inlays and no binding make this stand out from the standard 4003.
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition - very clean & like new! It still has the Made In USA sticker on the pickguard.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with white side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Frets are in perfect condition. Schaller Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 33 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods are in perfect working condition.
Body: Neck-thru design with solid maple wings. RIC bridge with adjustable saddles. Single-ply white plexi pickguard. Bass weighs 9 lbs 2.3 oz.
Electronics: Ric Hi Gain single coils pickups. Dual volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch; push-pull standard/vintage tone circuit; mono output. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with all the original accessories/paperwork & original shipping box from Rickenbacker!
