Description
The Benson Deep Sea Diver Fuzz Echo is an innovative, signature pedal created in collaboration with Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver, designed to blend rich, textured fuzz with warm, analog-voiced echo for an incredibly versatile and inspiring sound palette.
Built from the ground up with Dobson's unique sonic approach in mind, this pedal takes a silicon three-transistor fuzz circuit-inspired by a hybrid of MK1.5 and MK2 fuzz designs-and warps it into a dynamic, interactive drive machine. The Bias and Gate controls allow for a wide range of tones, from aggressive treble boost to thick, velvety distortion, to splatty, gated textures reminiscent of Deep Sea Diver's signature sound. Small tweaks yield dramatic shifts in EQ and response, making it a playground for sonic exploration.
On the echo side, a finely tuned PT2399-based delay pairs seamlessly with the fuzz circuit, delivering everything from slapback warmth to self-oscillating chaos at higher feedback settings. Hold down the footswitch, and the delay dives into sustained feedback swells, a technique heard throughout Deep Sea Diver's records.
A unique feature of the Fuzz Echo is its reversible signal chain-hold the footswitch while powering on, and the LED will indicate the order:
- Green LED: Fuzz before Echo for traditional overdriven delay sounds
- Orange LED: Echo before Fuzz for warped, overdriven repeats and My Bloody Valentine-esque textures
Designed for guitar, bass, synths, or anything you can throw at it, the Deep Sea Diver Fuzz Echo delivers a huge spectrum of tones, from subtle to extreme, and works effortlessly anywhere in your signal chain. While it may introduce a small amount of hiss, Benson suggests the best solution: play a guitar solo instead.
Power Supply:
This pedal is for use only with a 9vdc Boss style center negative power supply. There is no battery. Please do not subject this pedal to more than 9vdc or the pedal or power supply could be destroyed. This pedal draws less than 100ma and will work well with most supplies.
