Marshall Updates the DSL Series for 2018

Marshall Updates the DSL Series for 2018

Marshall recently released the newest generation of their DSL amps. The updated line features 7 models with a variety of power levels:

  • DSL1C (1W Combo)
  • DSL1H (1W Head)
  • DSL5C (5W Combo)
  • DSL20C (20W Combo)
  • DSL20H (20W Head)
  • DSL40C (40W Combo)
  • DSL100H (100W Head)

  • The upgraded DSL amps all feature power reduction options, allowing guitarist to achieve that Marshall crunch at higher or lower volumes without losing tone quality. With its new power reduction technology, the DSL series is made to produce the all-valve Marshall sound at any venue - from home to studio to the stage.

All DSL combo amps now feature speakers by Celestion, the speakers that have been synonymous with Marshall amps for more than four decades.

The DSL series offers the versatility that compliments classic rock, metal, blues, and almost any genre you can think of.

    Key Features:

Emulated Power Output and Power Reduction

Marshall has incorporated new power reduction technology to give guitarists the ability to change amp volume without sacrificing the quality of sound. The new series offers a long-awaited solution for those demanding lower power Marshall amplifiers.

With the help of Softube technology, the DSL lineup features a newly integrated speaker-emulated output option. Following their previous partnership on the CODE series amps, Marshall and Softube have replicated the sound of the iconic 1960 series 4x12 cabinets. The emulated outputs allow the amplifiers to bypass their speaker, giving musicians the option of no-volume recording and silent practicing.

    Two Footswitchable Gain Channels

Marshall designed it’s DSL amps to feature two gain channels - Ultra Gain and Classic Gain.

The Classic Gain channel can be switched between clean & crunch modes, while the Ultra Gain channel gives guitarists the ability to switch from overdrive 1 and overdrive 2. Both channels also include individual reverb controls for more command over your sound.

    Reverb, Resonance and Master Volume

Along with the upgraded technology, the EQ has been redone - giving options for a more tailored tone.

For more flexibility the DSL series includes a master volume for each channel, built-in digital reverb, and a dedicated resonance control. (The DSL1 and DSL5 are the exceptions, as they don’t feature resonance controls).

With a studio-grade digital reverb, the player can add space and ambiance to their tone. Overall, the new EQ options will offer more versatility and give musicians the ability to create their own unique style.
