The new Fender American Performer series offers the best of American build quality and features in a guitar that is both affordable and created with the gigging musician in mind. Designed and built in Fender’s Corona, California factory, these instruments represent the pinnacle of a professional yet affordable instrument.
What’s New With The Fender American Performer Series?
The American Performer Series is a dynamic and exciting successor to the Fender American Special Series and expands upon and features the classic Fender models and body styles you’ve come to know and love. These new features include:
New American Built Models. Fender has introduced American built versions of the Mustang and Mustang bass along with the new Telecaster HUM in addition to re-envisioning classics like the Stratocaster, Stratocaster HSS, Jazzmaster,
Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass.
Yosemite Pickups. Handcrafted in Fender’s Corona factory, the all-new Yosemite pickups are the latest in Fender innovation and design. Every pickup is custom-voiced for each instrument and position, and calibrated for equal volume in all switching combinations.
Classic Gear Tuners. Created exclusively for the American Performer series, Fender’s ClassicGear tuning machines combine the aesthetics of vintage tuners with the modern functionality that players have been asking for including an 18:1 gear ratio for smooth action and easy fine-tuning.
Double Tap Humbuckers. On all humbucker equipped models, the Double Tap Humbucker gives you full-throated humbucking and expressive single coil tonalities without the volume losses typical in split coil pickups so you get all the tonal flexibility without compromise.
Enhanced Electronics. A new Push-Pull Pot provides different tonal features across models and the Fender’s Grease Bucket Circuit cuts treble without loss of gain or clarity. Add you neck pickup or tap you Humbucker with a quick push of the button and dial in your perfect tone on the fly.
New Colors & Finishes. Fender’s new colors will inspire, make a statement, and help express your originality. The colors include Arctic White, Aubergine, Honeyburst, Penny, Satin Surf Green, Satin Sonic Blue, and Satin Lake Lake Placid Blue.
70’s Fender Logo & Headstock. Fender marks the return of the large CBS-era headstock on Stratocasters and 70’s style logo in silver on all models. It’s an iconic Fender look that harkens to the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, and Ritchie Blackmore.

The American Performer Stratocaster
Kicking off the collection, the American Performer Stratocaster delivers the exceptional tone and feel you expect from an authentic Fender—with new enhancements that make it even more inspiring to play. The American Performer Stratocaster includes the Yosemite single-coil pickups, designed for rich, expressive tones. With flat-staggered pole pieces to increase output and a shellac coating that lets the coil breathe while controlling feedback, Yosemite pickups produce dynamic sounds ideal for any musical situation.

The American Performer Stratocaster HSS
Expanding upon the tonal versatility of the iconic Strat, the American Performer Stratocaster HSS gives the Strat lover a hot-rodded sonic versatility that modern guitarists demand—with new enhancements, like the DoubleTap humbucking pickup, that make it even more inspiring to play. The American Performer Telecaster includes the Yosemite single-coil pickups, designed for rich, expressive tones. With flat-staggered pole pieces to increase output and coatings that let the coil breathe while controlling feedback—a shellac coating for the neck pickup and wax potting for the bridge pickup—Yosemite pickups produce dynamic sounds ideal for any musical situation.

The American Performer Telecaster Hum
Ready to bring the heat? The American Performer Telecaster Hum combines exceptional Fender humbucking tone and authentic feel with new tone technologies and player-oriented features designed to inspire while propelling your playing to new heights. The American Performer Telecaster Hum includes the Yosemite single-coil bridge pickup—designed for rich, expressive tone— and a wax-potted DoubleTap humbucking neck pickup, which is controlled by a push/pull tone pot. This unique, patent-applied-for design combines humbucking and single-coil voices, while eliminating volume loss in single-coil mode.
New with the American Performer Telecaster Hum:
The American Performer Jazzmaster
Built for the gigging player with small yet brilliant performance enhancements, the elegant American Performer Jazzmaster delivers the unique and refined feel you expect from an authentic Fender—with new player-oriented features that make it even more inspiring to play. New to the American Performer Jazzmaster, the traditional Jazzmaster tailpiece and bridge have been replaced with a Strat-style six-screw vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge.
