Blending a rich spring reverb with an analog chorus/flanger and a digital delay, the Hypnosis is perfect for players looking to coat their signal in classic '80s-style time effects.
The first thing you'll notice when you boot up the Hypnosis is that it sports a 3-spring reverb tank behind a plexiglass cover in the upper left corner. It's backlit with pink LEDs that light up when active and glow brighter when the input level increases. Those springs are every bit the real thing - just engage the reverb effect, and you'll be blown away at how luscious and ambient it sounds.
The Hypnosis also features a powerful chorus/flanger that's capable of delivering a wide range of '80s-sounding doubling effects. Holding the Cho-Fla button in the lower right-hand corner will give access to three different wave shapes, allowing users to create unique and exciting sonic textures.
Lastly, the Hypnosis has a digital delay with three algorithms: a regular delay, a band-pass filtered delay, and a vintage tape delay. These effects sound great on their own but can be further experimented with via the Freeze button. By holding the Freeze button, players can loop a section of the delay until they lift their finger from it. Alternatively, they can engage the freeze, deselect the delay module, and the loop will play indefinitely. This option is great for synth players who want to loop a section and alter its parameters for pitch/tempo variations.
