Description

The EarthQuaker Devices Dirt Transmitter Fuzz Pedal - Rancho De La Luna Limited Edition - marks the return of one of EQD's earliest and most character-rich fuzz circuits. It's perfect for players who want a fuzz that feels vintage but has a broader personality, great for experimental tones, garage rock, or just getting gritty with something that still cuts through. This version brings the Dirt Transmitter back with a unique twist, honoring its use during a special recording session at Rancho De La Luna, the legendary desert studio founded by Dave Catching.

Sonically, this is a Fuzz Face-inspired design, but EQD used lower-gain silicon transistors that mimic some of the warmth you'd expect from germanium, while still pushing that crispy, mid-forward tone fuzz fans love. The Bias control is the secret weapon here-crank it and it's smooth and classic, roll it back and you get a gated, sputtery, almost velcro-like breakup. It's a simple layout: Fuzz, Tone, Level, and Bias, but it covers a huge range. Whether you want a tight lead tone or some off-the-rails texture, it's easy to find that sweet spot.

This pedal came back because it played a huge role in the sessions celebrating 30 years of Rancho De La Luna. Jamie Stillman of EQD used the Dirt Transmitter heavily during that recording, and the tones caught everyone's ears. It made perfect sense to bring it back, even if just for a limited run, to honor that session and the spirit of the place. Dave Catching was all in, and suggested artist Mike Egan for the custom artwork-he's an Ohio native like EQD and brought a perfect mix of desert weirdness and EQD vibe to the design.

It's built for the road but just as comfortable on a studio board. The top-mount jacks and small footprint make it pedalboard-friendly, and the circuit is stable and consistent with true bypass switching. The Dirt Transmitter has always had a bit of cult love around it, and we're glad to see it get another spotlight moment. This version is a great blend of history, tone, and personality-and once it's gone, it's gone. Like, "gone" gone.
