Covering everything from gritty transistor-style overdrive to ripping, harmonically rich fuzz, the Percolator is an excellent choice for players who want expressive gain that responds to picking dynamics while offering plenty of room to experiment.
Three straightforward controls provide an impressive range of sounds. Harmonics adjusts the input gain from edge-of-breakup drive to full fuzz saturation, Bias reshapes the gain circuit for everything from smooth sustain to gated, Velcro-style textures and pseudo-octave effects, and Balance controls the overall output level. The Drive/Fuzz toggle lets you disengage or engage the clipping diodes, giving you the choice between a raw, chewy transistor overdrive or aggressive asymmetrical fuzz with enhanced even-order harmonics. An internal trim pot allows further adjustment for increased gain and stronger sub-octave response, while the relay-based footswitch supports both standard latching operation and momentary activation for quick bursts of fuzz during a performance.
