Made as an Independent Dealer Exclusive, this version trades the standard Futura color-shifting finish for a AAAA figured maple veneer in Rally Red Gloss with a contrasting white racing stripe. It's built for players who want the familiar weight, sustain, and feel of a Les Paul with modern playability and enough electronic versatility for gigging, recording, and contemporary high-gain work.
The Ultra Modern weight-relieved mahogany body features a maple cap with AAAA figured maple veneer, combining classic Les Paul construction with a lighter, more manageable feel. Its set mahogany neck uses a fast Modern C profile and Modern Contoured Heel for easier upper-fret access, while the bound ebony fingerboard has a 10" to 14" compound radius and 22 stainless steel frets. That combination keeps chords comfortable lower on the neck while providing a flatter surface for bends and faster lead work higher up.
A pair of ProBucker Ignite humbuckers provides the higher-output voice expected from the Futura Series, while push-pull controls add coil splitting and phase switching for considerably more range than a traditional Les Paul Custom. Locking Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and LockTone bridge and tailpiece round out a dependable hardware package for regular stage and studio use.
