These pickups have flat-staggered pole pieces and shellac coating, resulting in a hotter sound than standard Fender single-coils. These are excellent pickups that provide an extra layer of tonal versatility, and you'll only find them in the American Performers. The HSS version also replaces the bridge with an all-new DoubleTap humbucker, giving you the power and 'chunk' needed for heavier playing styles. Plus, the Greasebucket tone circuitry and push-pull tone control allows users to add the neck pickup to any switch position, providing even more sonic versatility. The American Performer Stratocaster also features a modern "C" shaped neck, 22 jumbo frets, and a 9.5" radius fingerboard, contributing to the guitar's remarkable playability and rock-solid in-hand feel.
