Description
The Fender American Professional Hot Shot Telecaster Rosewood in Dark Night marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. This refreshed American Professional Series makes for a more versatile guitar than your standard Tele by placing a Stratocaster single-coil between the traditional Tele neck and bridge pickups. Five-way switching opens up both classic Tele sounds and glassier Strat-inspired combinations, while the new top-load/string-through bridge with compensated brass saddles adds improved intonation and setup flexibility.
The Deep "C" maple neck features rolled fingerboard edges, a 9.5" radius, and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a smooth, comfortable feel. A sculpted neck heel improves access to the upper register, while 22 narrow tall frets provide an easy balance between rhythm playing and lead work. V-Mod III Telecaster single-coils in the bridge and neck retain the twang, snap, and aggressive bite that define the Tele, while the V-Mod III Strat middle pickup adds glassier sounds and more nuanced in-between positions through the five-way switch.
The three-saddle bridge supports both top-load and string-through setups, giving players another way to fine-tune feel and tension. ClassicGear compensated brass Bullet saddles help improve intonation without giving up the direct response of a traditional Tele bridge, while Fender staggered sealed tuners, a bone nut, and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment round out the hardware. We think the Dark Night Hot Shot is a strong option for players who want one of the most flexible Tele configurations in the refreshed American Professional lineup.
