Description
The Fender American Professional Jaguar Rosewood in Black marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. TThis refreshed American Professional Series keeps the model's distinctive 24-inch short scale for lower string tension and easier bends, while adding more flexibility through a bridge pickup tap and Series Mode rhythm circuit. The tap lets the bridge pickup move between a fuller, more powerful voice and a lower-output vintage character, while the Panorama tremolo and ClassicGear J-Bridge round out the updated hardware package. Tighter-tolerance pots and a treble bleed circuit on the volume control provide smooth, consistent operation while helping preserve clarity as you roll the volume back. The Black finish, tortoiseshell pickguard, and aged white and black plastics give this version a familiar offset look, while the 24" scale and updated electronics preserve the Jaguar's unique identity while making it more adaptable for modern players.
The Deep "C" maple neck features rolled fingerboard edges, a 9.5" radius, and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a smooth, comfortable feel. The 24" scale provides lower string tension for easy bends and a compact playing feel, while 22 narrow tall frets make both chord work and lead playing feel natural. V-Mod III Jaguar single-coils provide articulate sparkle and chime, with the bridge pickup tap adding a lower-output vintage-style voice and the rhythm circuit placing both pickups in series for a thicker, higher-output sound.
The Panorama Tremolo with pop-in arm provides everything from subtle shimmer to deeper pitch movement, while the ClassicGear J-Bridge helps keep intonation and stability under control. Fender staggered sealed tuners, a bone nut, and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment round out a reliable hardware package. We think the Black version is a strong choice for players who want classic Jaguar personality with a more refined and flexible feature set.
