Description

The Fender American Professional Precision Bass Rosewood in Oxblood marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. This refreshed American Professional Series receives subtle but meaningful changes to both feel and hardware. The neck profile is slightly thicker at the first fret and slimmer at the twelfth, while the updated HiMass Pro bridge now uses brass saddles and brass backstops for a more substantial, refined design. The deep Oxblood finish, black pickguard, and rosewood fingerboard give this version a darker, more distinctive look, while the core design stays focused on the punch, simplicity, and reliability that make the Precision Bass a standard for working players.

The maple neck uses a Modified 1963 "C" profile with rolled fingerboard edges and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a smooth, comfortable feel. A 9.5" radius, 20 narrow tall frets, and 1.625" nut width keep the bass easy to move around on, while the sculpted heel and asymmetrical five-bolt neck plate improve access higher up the fingerboard. The V-Mod III split-coil Precision Bass pickup delivers the familiar combination of punch, growl, and focused low-end response that works across rock, soul, country, pop, and studio sessions.

The HiMass Pro bridge supports both string-through-body and top-load configurations, giving players some flexibility in feel and response, while Fender lightweight vintage-style tuners help keep tuning stable without making the neck feel overly heavy. ClassicGear Precision potentiometers provide smooth control over the traditional master volume and tone layout. We think the Oxblood version is a strong choice for players who want the straightforward utility of a P Bass with a finish that stands apart from the usual options.
