Fender Santa Ana V2 Overdrive Pedal delivers the responsive feel and dynamic character of a cranked Fender tube amp in a highly flexible, pedalboard-friendly design. Built around a Class A JFET drive circuit that operates internally at 18 volts, the Santa Ana V2 offers impressive headroom, natural touch sensitivity, and a wide range of gain, making it equally suited for edge-of-breakup rhythm tones, classic rock crunch, and smooth lead work. With its independent active EQ section and flexible signal routing, it's an excellent choice for players who want precise control over their overdrive without sacrificing simplicity.
The JFET drive section features Drive, Tone, and Level controls alongside a two-position Voice switch that changes the pedal from a tighter, more articulate overdrive to a thicker, smoother lead voice. A rear-panel Tight switch trims low frequencies before the gain stage for an even more focused response, especially when using humbuckers or higher-gain settings. Beyond the drive section, an independently switchable 3-band active EQ provides Bass, Middle, and Treble controls with center detents for flat response. The EQ Placement switch allows the equalizer to be positioned before or after the overdrive, dramatically changing how the pedal responds and giving you the flexibility to shape either the gain structure or the finished tone.
Designed for modern pedalboards, the Santa Ana V2 also includes selectable true bypass or buffered bypass operation and Fender's Multi-Switch footswitch technology for both latching and momentary activation. We especially like how the separate EQ section transforms this from a straightforward overdrive into a highly adaptable tone-shaping tool that works equally well with clean amps, already-driven amplifiers, and a variety of pickup configurations.
