The Genesis Collection resurrects the spirit of classic Ibanez guitars, and the new RG550 is a perfect example. This Made in Japan electric was renamed in the 90s and discontinued in 2002, but has been brought back with some updates that make it better than ever, while also staying true to the RG550's original design. The basswood body, tilt neck joint, and Edge double locking tremolo bridge are all intact from the original design, and will make you feel right at home. New features on this updated RG550 are the five-piece laminated maple/walnut neck, and a fantastic set of pickups in HSH configuration. You get a pair of Ibanez V7/V8 humbuckers for all the high-gain crunch you can handle, and an S1 single-coil in the middle for crisper cleans. Plus, its new Road Flare Red finish ensures that this RG550 will stand out visually as well as sonically.
