Description
The JHS AT Mini Andy Timmons Signature Overdrive Pedal takes the original V1 AT circuit and strips it down to the version Andy Timmons actually prefers. The AT began with Timmons using a JHS Angry Charlie as his main lead sound, eventually leading to his own signature circuit. Here, that circuit is permanently set to the 100-watt voicing, the most open and least compressed of the original settings. If you're after British-style crunch and lead gain with plenty of punch and an amp-like response, the AT Mini gets you there without taking up much room.
You still get the same four controls as the original V1. Drive moves from lower-gain bluesy breakup into thick distortion, while Volume gives you plenty of control over how hard you're hitting the next stage of your rig. EQ handles the overall bright-to-dark balance, and Air works more like an amplifier presence control, letting you tailor the upper end to the amp you're using. Removing the wattage switch isn't about simplifying the circuit itself; JHS simply fixed it at Timmons' preferred 100-watt setting, so the core sound and control set remain intact.
The smaller enclosure makes this an easy fit when pedalboard space is tight, and operation is about as straightforward as a signature drive gets. It can also run from 9V to 18V, giving you flexibility with common pedalboard power supplies. We think the AT Mini makes particular sense if you liked the original AT but mostly wanted its big, open 100-watt voice. You're getting that specific version of the circuit without paying for or making room for features you may not use.
