Description
The Keeley Tube Drive Overdrive Pedal gives you two genuinely different drive circuits in one box, with enough routing flexibility to make them work as individual sounds or as a complete gain section for your board. One side is Keeley's Phat Mod drive circuit, while the other uses a Keeley-branded 12AX7-style tube operating at high voltage. That makes the Tube Drive a good fit for players who want the familiar response of a versatile pedal overdrive alongside the feel and character of an actual tube preamp, without dedicating separate spots on the board to each.
Both channels have their own Level, gain, and Tone controls, so you can set them up independently before stacking them. The Drive side covers the Phat Mod voice, while the Tube side can move from touch-sensitive tube grit into heavier overdrive. More importantly, you aren't locked into one stacking order. A long-press footswitch function lets you change whether the Drive feeds the Tube or the Tube feeds the Drive. That's a useful distinction in practice; one order can let the tube stage reshape and push your drive sound, while reversing it gives the Drive circuit the final say.
Keeley also gives you switchable true bypass or buffered operation, plus a TRS remote jack for external control of the Tube and Drive channels. The included 12AX7-style tube is burned in and tested by Keeley, and the pedal is built at their Oklahoma City headquarters. We like the Tube Drive because the extra flexibility isn't there just to pad out a feature list. Two independent gain stages, reversible order, and selectable bypass give you practical ways to fit it around the rest of your rig.
