Description
The Old Blood Float V2 Dual Filter Pedal - Ocean Blue takes the dual analog state-variable filter concept of the original Float and expands it into a more flexible, digitally controlled platform. Each side can independently use low pass, band pass, high pass, or combinations of those filter types, with its own cutoff, resonance, volume, envelope sensitivity, and LFO controls. That means Float V2 can cover familiar auto-wah, tremolo, and phase-like movement, but it's really for players who want to push filtering into less predictable rhythmic, random, and evolving territory.
Each filter has six LFO shapes, including sine, square, ramp up, ramp down, smooth random, and stepped random, with Rate and Depth controlling the movement. The envelope can respond to your playing by moving either cutoff or LFO rate, and the Sync function links the two filters for coordinated movement. Hard Sync goes further by matching Filter 2's cutoff directly to Filter 1, while still leaving Filter Type, Volume, and Resonance independently adjustable. Routing can be parallel mono, series mono, mono-in-stereo-out, or full stereo, so the two filters can work together or handle separate sides of a larger setup.
Float V2 also adds the control you'd want if this is going into a more involved pedalboard. The Aux footswitch handles tap tempo or preset switching, expression can control any combination of knob parameters, and MIDI provides parameter control, clock sync, and access to 127 presets beyond the three stored onboard. Each filter also has its own latching or momentary footswitch operation. We like Float V2 because you can set it up as a straightforward musical filter and stop there, or dig into the routing, synchronization, random LFOs, expression, and MIDI when you want the pedal to become part of the composition itself.
