The Old Blood Iota Tone Generator Synth Pedal - Zenith Silver is an instrument for your pedalboard, designed to generate notes so you can focus on shaping what happens to them through the rest of your rig. Choose a root note, scale intervals, starting octave, and range, then let Iota sequence those notes while you adjust how they move, bend, glide, swing, skip, and repeat. The oscillator itself blends between three voices, moving from a slightly gritty sine-like sound into progressively more harmonically rich and chiptune-like territory, with a separate Noise control for blending filtered white noise into the signal.

The sequencer gives you control over Rate, Direction, Range, Swing, Glide, and Bend, while Skip and Hold can introduce either random changes or one of 16 patterns. Scramble rearranges your selected scale intervals, and the volume envelope provides Mix, Shape, and Length controls for changing the attack and decay behavior of each generated note. The Aux footswitch can manually trigger notes, provide tap tempo, or cycle presets, and expression can be assigned to any combination of the main knob parameters. There are 12 presets onboard and up to 127 available through MIDI, along with MIDI clock, MIDI note, Program Change, and parameter control.

Iota can run on its own while you work the rest of your pedals, or you can interact with it directly and treat the sequencer as part of the performance. Mono and stereo outputs make it easy to integrate into different rigs, with stereo operation moving successive notes across the stereo field. We think Iota makes the most sense for players who've built a pedalboard full of interesting sounds and want a hands-free source of notes, patterns, and movement to send through it.
