This Taylor 614ce features Taylor's revolutionary new "V-Class" bracing. In addition to increasing sustain, this new bracing style increases power and the overall harmonic qualities of the Sitka Spruce top and Maple back/sides.
The Taylor 614ce still employs the beloved combination of spruce and maple, but each takes on its own character in this updated and upgraded version. This build features a sitka spruce top that has undergone wood torrefaction, a process in which it is deliberately cured under closely monitored temperature and humidity settings in order to achieve a more stable top with the richer tone of maturity as well as a beautiful golden glow. The maple back and sides have been given a Brown Sugar stain that thoroughly deepens the wood's natural hue and provides it a lustrous sheen. A similarly stained hard rock maple neck and ebony fingerboard with grained ivoroid wing inlays round out this model's new dark look with understated elegance as well as tonal integrity. To accent its new dark look, Taylor has added a striped ebony pickguard that perfectly ties together the depths and highlights of the overall appearance. Rife with finishing touches in an ebony and abalone single ring rosette, ebony headstock overlay, and ebony binding with grained ivoroid purfling, this beautiful guitar still shines with the inherent brightness of its tone woods, but with a new, dark and handsome aesthetic.
