Description
The Tone King Royalist Tri-Tube Preamp Pedal is built for players chasing true British tube tone without hauling a full stack. Inspired directly by the Royalist MKIII amplifier, this pedal covers the evolution from early JTM-style warmth to Plexi crunch and into full Super Lead aggression. If you are a gigging guitarist, session player, or home recordist who wants real tube feel at manageable volume, this closes that gap in a serious way.
At the heart of the Royalist are three 12AX7 tubes running at proper high voltages, not starved plate approximations. You get two completely independent channels, each with Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble, plus a three way 1964, 1967, 1970 voicing switch and a FAT option to thicken single coils or push humbuckers harder. The built in zero watt power amp phase inverter circuit adds the harmonic depth and dynamic response most preamp pedals miss. On top of that, you have onboard low latency IR cabinet simulation with 20 included OwnHammer IRs, six assignable IR slots, dual balanced XLR outs with ground lift, stereo series effects loop, MIDI control with up to 128 presets, and assignable reverb with trails. This can run straight to front of house, into a recording interface, headphones, or into the effects return of your favorite amp using the 3 cable method.
Despite how deep it goes, it is laid out in a way that feels like an amp, not a menu dive. The dual Iron Man attenuators, HF controls, and flexible routing make it easy to dial in at stage volume or bedroom levels. For players who want authentic British tube response, modern direct options, and serious integration into a pro rig, this is one of the most complete preamp pedals we have had through here. It feels and responds like the real thing because under the hood, it basically is.
