The Starlight features three different modes, two of which are emulations of classic studio delays. The first mode recreates the rich, vintage sounds of the EP-III, a unit that colored much of the music in the '70s. This mode has tons of cool features that can be blended in, including tape noise, tape slices, and a preamp section that can be driven into gritty distortion.
The second mode emulates the warmer, darker tones of the Deluxe Memory Man, making it perfect for players who love bucket-brigade style delays. This mode features a chorus/vibrato control just like the original, allowing players to add subtle, dreamy warbles to their sound. It also has up to a full second of delay, expanding upon the DMM's capabilities.
The last mode is Univeral Audio's own Precision delay, a remarkably clear and precise-sounding digital delay. This mode is great for folks who need a crisp, cutting delay that'll stand out in loud/noisy performance settings. Players can also add tons of different modulation effects to the delay via the Starlight's extensive plug-in library.
