Description
What makes this guitar special: The G6131T-1965TVP features a vintage inspired deep firebird red top with aged body binding offset with gorgeous gold hardware. The double cutaway body is a bit lighter than a single cut version and offers much improved access to the higher frets. The double cutaway G6131 Firebird has an extremely cool yet unique vibe to it but also packs tremendous tone and playability. Overall, this is an exceptionally well-made guitar and is one of our favorites around the shop.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. This guitar has some minor surface scratches on the top, but these are all very small, and only show in direct light. The original hard case is included and the bass comes with our signature setup, so it plays great!
Body: The Firebird can be considered a solid body guitar because it’s constructed of a solid mahogany back. However, due to a heavily chambered body and a 3 ply maple top, the guitar retains some of that sweet hollow body Gretsch tone. The chambered body design yields a guitar that is very well balanced and at just under 8 lbs feels right.
Neck: The neck is a slightly slimmer “C” shape with softer taper and traditional feel. This shape, combined with a 12” fretboard radius and 19th fret neck joint gives the guitar tremendous playability and accessibility.
Electronics: The pickups are TV Jones Classics, which clean up really well retaining the classic woody tones Gretsch guitars are famous for. It’s a unique pickup that offers both full bodied and warm clean tones as well as controlled and articulate high gain sounds.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
Weight: 7 lbs. 13 oz.
