This modernized version of the legendary hollowbody that saw heavy use by the likes of John Lennon and Dave Davies is an outstanding guitar, courtesy of its warm, snappy sound and impeccable build quality.
Constructed with a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body, this hollowbody projects a rich woody resonance with plenty of top-end articulation. It also sports a solid mahogany rounded "C" shaped neck that not only feels incredibly comfortable but adds sustain and thickness to your tone. Fit with a sleek Indian Rosewood fingerboard, this Epiphone Casino plays just as well as the first Casino to come out of the Kalamazoo factory.
Powering this beauty is a pair of Gibson USA P-90 Dogear pickups that pump out a stellar array of vintage-inspired tones. Push these pickups to the limit in front of an old-school tube amp and kick on your favorite dirt pedals, and you'll have all the bite and snarl you could ever dream of. Dime them back and roll off the tone, though, and you'll be surprised with how nicely these pickups clean up.
