Description

An outstanding R9 with some interesting features that should be pointed out. Firstly, this guitar was hand-selected by Musikhaus Hermann in Germany for its stunning flame maple top & Butterscotch finish. We recently acquired the guitar from the original owner who purchased it brand new from Musikhaus & had it shipped back to the US. It has Heavy Aging from the Murphy Lap & included with the guitar is a signed photograph of Tom Murphy that says "Burst Wishes". Fully inspected & professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to perform straight out of the case.

Cosmetic Condition: Intentionally "aged" at the factory to give it that well-worn, "vintage" look - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear.

Neck: One-piece, solid mahogany neck in brown finish with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. The side-dot at the 21st fret looks more like abalone or mother of pearl rather than tortoise, which is rather unique. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners with aged Keystone buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.

Body: One-piece, solid mahogany body in brown finish. Gorgeous flame maple top with aged cream binding & finished in Butterscotch. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard is included, but the guitar has not been drilled for it yet. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 15.1 oz. Under 8lbs & exceptionally resonant!

Electronics: Dual Gibson humbuckers with nickel covers & 3-way toggle switch. The neck pickup is labeled Rhy E Bucker & the bridge pickup has a PAF sticker. Both pickups have 4-conductor wires & were wired out of phase from the factory. The solder joints on the volume pots look untouched. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case that was also intentionally "aged" at the factory. Original COA & hang tags included along with the signed Tom Murphy photograph. Also included is a card stating the guitar was hand selected by Musikhaus Hermann along with a fingerboard cover. And finally, the original shipping box is also included - now how cool is all that!
