The Martin M-6 Johnny Marr unites the legendary craftsmanship of Martin with the bold creativity of one of music's most iconic guitarists. Built from solid spruce and East Indian rosewood, the M-6 delivers a lush, balanced tone with deep low-end and sparkling top-end clarity. Its Grand Auditorium body shape, pairing the depth of a 000 with the width of a Jumbo, and offers excellent projection while remaining comfortable in any playing position.
Created in close collaboration with Johnny Marr, this six-string version draws direct inspiration from his longtime companion, a 1971 Martin D-28 that's been a staple of his sound since the earliest days of The Smiths. That guitar shaped songs like "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out;" the M-6 now offers a way to tap into that same tonal DNA with a more traditional six-string setup. The full-thickness mahogany neck with a standard taper offers a substantial, vintage-style grip that's perfect for expressive lead lines, rhythmic intricacy, and everything in between.
Premium appointments like a three-piece rosewood back, antique toner top, multi-stripe rosette, and faux tortoise accents elevate the look while staying true to Marr's refined aesthetic.
