Description
Taylor's Grand Orchestra is the guitar equivalent of a grand piano, boasting a big, complex voice with a wonderfully dynamic response. The maple/spruce edition features a back bracing profile that's optimized for maple and a torrefied top, which produces an aged tonal character with greater acoustic resonance. Protein glues and an ultra-thin gloss finish minimize dampening. A hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain on the back and sides gives maple's striking figure a beautiful violin-hued appearance without adding extra thickness to the finish. Featured appointments include grained ivoroid Wings fretboard inlays, an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, an ebony/ivoroid rosette, and a striped ebony pickguard, along with Taylor's Expression System 2 acoustic electronics. The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall with some mild play wear - various minor dents & dings along with surface scratches.
Neck: Soft V-shaped hard rock maple neck with silver side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with grained ivory Wing inlays. Frets show some wear, but are in great shape overall with tons of life in them. Gotoh 510 tuners with 1:21 gear ratio. 1 3/4" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid spruce top with ebony bridge & end pins. Striped ebony pickguard & abalone rosette. Solid flame maple back & sides in hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 13.1 oz.
Electronics: Taylor's low profile Expression System in perfect working condition.
