Description
A great player's grade Melody Maker due to a nasty headstock break. This cute, little 3/4 size model sports the fatter single coil pickup & nicely rounded mahogany neck. Professionally set up & ready to play upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: The headstock cracked all the through from front to back some time ago & was glued back together. It's fairly stable & quite playable. Throughout the rest of the guitar there are signs of mild play wear - various minor nicks, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild weather checking.
Neck: Mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show a tiny bit of wear, but have tons of life in them. Open-back strip tuners in good working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 23" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single cutaway, solid mahogany body with sunburst finish top. Wrap-around bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply black pickguard with Melody Maker logo still intact. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 15.1 oz.
Electronics: "Fat" single coil bridge pickgup with black cover - 6.88K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '59 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage "alligator" chipboard case included.
