Description: Vintage 1920s Vega Banjolin Banjo Mandolin
Condition: Very good overall. Various light surface scratches and small nicks and dings throughout the instrument. There is some light blemishing on the metal parts. Our master luthier added two wood shims on the coordinator rod for a proper snug fit and neck angle (see photos). The treble side strings do sit just over the edge of the fingerboard but the instrument is still perfectly playable. All parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: 10” diameter Elite banjo head with 24 lugs on a nickel tension hoop. Nickel finished brass tailpiece and maple bridge. Maple pot with nickel casing and a single wood coordinator rod. This model does not have a resonator or tone ring.
Neck: “V” shaped maple neck with ebonized maple fingerboard, pearloid inlays and a 1” nut. Four-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, 14” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This instrument produces a very loud and resonant tone! The open-back design allows for plenty of volume and the head provides excellent attack of each note. The neck is exceptionally comfortable and suitable for any playing style.
Case: Includes unoriginal chipboard case.
