Description
Cosmetic Condition: Amazing condition for its age with a fabulous vintage vibe! No cracks or breaks! The neck is straight & has not been reset. There are various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & lots of weather checking. The sunburst finish is very strong & really pops. Overall the guitar has a great look to & is simply gorgeous!
Neck: Semi-chunky V-shaped mahogany neck with dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Original open-back strip tuners in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 25" scale length.
Body: Solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides. Bound top & back with a 15" lower bout width. Rosewood bridge with black pins. The high E bridge pin does not match the other five, but is very close. Bone saddle, firestripe pickguard, 3-ply rosette.
Playability / Sound: Smooth, comfortable neck that is very easy to play. The neck is straight & the guitar plays well, but the action is just a little higher than what most modern players prefer. The action is typical of guitars from this period so the guitar does not require a neck reset. The action at the 12th fret is 3/16". The guitar has a warm, rich, woody tone with a sweet resonance.
Case: Original chipboard case included, but it's a little rough, so we are also including a very nice, vintage Ess & Ess hardshell case from the 60's that the guitar fits in perfectly!
