What makes this guitar special: Super rare, natural finish model with lots of gorgeous flame maple figuring throughout. The guitar is 100% original & in perfect playing condition. Just an all around beautiful looking guitar, with the large Kelvinator headstock & "tissue box" pickups. Professionally set up by Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition for its age - some minor nicks, dings & mild surface scratches. There are a couple of small cracks in the veneer where the neck joins the body & a couple of small cracks in plastic part of the headstock, but nothing severe. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, flame maple neck with ivoroid binding. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Large Kelvinator headstock with Grover open-back tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & the action is perfect.
Body: Semi-hollow, flame maple body with an arched top & back. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with floating rosewood bridge. Silver plexi pickguard with gold Barney Kessel logo inside. 4-ply bound top & single-ply binding on the back. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 3.3 oz.
Pickups: DeArmond single coils. Bridge - 11.96K ohms; Neck - 12.57K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with clear 'top hat' knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case is included. The handle was replaced quite some time ago.
