Description
What makes this guitar special: A thunderous cannon of a dreadnought, with an unbeatable voice and breathtaking projection. This piece has been played in to perfection. The entire tonal spectrum is well represented, and the resonance is spectacular. This is the perfect guitar for a player who wants a ‘50s D-28, without the ‘50s price tag. It has been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier. It will arrive ready to play from the moment it hits your doorstep.
Cosmetic condition: Fantastic playing condition with some good honest wear. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with light browning in the binding and some very minor lifting on the topside of the pickguard. The guitar was oversprayed long ago, and there is some visible discoloration in the spray on the sides of the body. The bridge has been replaced, as has the bridge plate. The neck has been refretted. Overall, this one has a phenomenal sound to it, with a great patina.
Body: Double bound solid Brazilian Rosewood back & sides with solid Adirondack Spruce top in natural finish. Replacement ebony bridge with white bridge pins. There is ample room left on the saddle. Multi-ring ivoroid rosette and purfling. Tortoise pickguard. Lower bout width measures 15 5/8” with 3 15/16” depth.
Weight: 4 lb, 9.8 oz
Neck: Chunky U-shaped mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape, and the neck has been refretted (frets have a ton of life left). Rosewood headstock overlay with gold CF Martin logo. Kluson tuners work great. 1 3/4" nut width, 25.4” scale length. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the instrument. String action is currently set a touch higher than normal for increased resonance, but can be set to industry standard ( 5/32” – 4/32”) upon request.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
