Description
What makes this guitar special: A magnificent player with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. Great weight & exceptionally resonant with gorgeous, bell-like tones & a perfect-profile neck. Professionally inspected by the experts at Cream City Music & set up by our own luthier, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & some finish wear. The neck was oversprayed & re-fretted quite some time ago. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Superbly sculpted, rounded maple neck with 7.25" fretboard radius & black dot inlays. Although the neck is a '59, it was originally on a tremolo model Strat & this is a Hardtail Strat. So even though it's not original to this particular guitar, it's still period-correct. The neck was oversprayed & refretted with jumbo frets quite some time ago. The frets are in great shape with practically no wear, although the fingerboard itself does show some wear. Original string tree & Kluson Deluxe tuners, all in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays perfectly up & down the fretboard. Truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in original 3-tone sunburst finish. Hardtail, string-thru bridge with adjustable saddles & original bridge cover included. Single-ply white pickguard has aged nicely over the years & has more of a parchment color to it. It's in pretty good shape overall, but does show some warping along the edges & there's a small crack near the neck pickup screw. There's also some wear near the truss rod area from being adjusted throughout its life. However, everything about the body & electronics is original & the body date is 6/59. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 15.2 oz. Under 7lbs! And exceptionally resonant!
Electronics: Original black bottom single coils with cloth wiring. Bridge - 5.78K ohms; Middle - 5.64K ohms; Neck - 5.87K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with original skirted knobs; 3-way selector switch. Pots date to '58 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Period-correct tweed hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough & shows quite a bit of wear & tear. However, it's still quite sturdy & has all its clasps & original handle.
