Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing! The serial number on this one reads BL852, dating it to Dec of '62. George Harrison's 425 serial number was BH439, dating it a few months earlier to Aug.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused with typical play wear for a guitar that's over 50 years old. Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash & finish wear. There's a pretty good sized chip in the headstock, just below the low E tuner. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & cream dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods work fine.
Body: 'Cresting Wave' solid body finished in Fireglo. Neck-thru design with solid maple wings. Top-loading tailpiece with compensated bridge. Single-ply, large white pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 6.5 oz.
Pickup: Original Rickenbacker 'toaster top' single coil - 7.39K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with 2-way tone filter switch. Pots date to '62 & electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
