Description
What makes this guitar special: Very similar to Steve Marriott's early '60s Dwight model, this killer sounding Coronet plays & sounds absolutely fantastic! Basically Epiphone's version of the Gibson Junior, featuring a thinner, solid mahogany body & "dog-eared" P-90 single coil bridge pickup. The chunky mahogany neck is very comfortable & plays great up & down the fretboard. Professionally set up by our own tech & ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with a cool vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are two parallel stress cracks on either side of where the neck heel joins the body. These are purely superficial & the neck is quite stable. The cherry finish has faded somewhat, mostly on the back, but does show nice variegation throughout the guitar. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original Kluson Deluxe strip tuners are in perfect working condition. The D & G tuners are both slightly bent, but still function properly. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Symmetrical solid mahogany body with original compensated, wrap-around bridge. Unoriginal 3-ply pickguard. The two bottom screw holes don't line up with the holes in the body, so they are missing. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 9.7 oz.
Electronics: Original P-90 single coil with black "dog-ear" cover - 8.61K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots appear to be original & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included. The right clasp is broken, but the other two are fine & the case functions well.
