Description

What makes this bass special:  Oh man, this one brings tears to our eyes it's so beautiful, and what an amazing player!  Serious vintage tone with a warm, rich resonance that just can't be beat.  Speaking of beat, this one has been through it all with lots of road rash to prove it.  Recently acquired from the second owner, this gorgeous P-Bass was loved for many years & is need of a new home.  Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it's guaranteed to impress straight out of the case.  Believe me, this is a special one & not expected to last long in the shop, so don't hesitate!

Cosmetic Condition:  Good honest play wear, exactly how we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & some finish wear.  Overall the bass has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe to it with a wonderful patina.  She's perfect!

Neck:  C-shape maple neck with beautiful dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & clay dot inlays.  Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them.  Nickel tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 3/4" nut width; 34" scale length.  The truss rod functions & the neck is straight.  Neck stamp reads 5 JAN 63 C.

Body:  Contoured, solid alder body in 3-tone sunburst finish.  Top-loading bridge with four adjustable saddles & original bridge cover.  4-ply tortoise pickguard is in great shape with no cracks & only minimal shrinkage.  Original black finger-rest & pickup cover.  Bass weighs a delightful 8 lbs 15.9 oz.

Electronics:  The original owner replaced the original pickup with a DiMarzio back in the early '80s when that was the popular thing to do.  The second owner tracked down a P-Bass pickup from 1961 & replaced the DiMarzio with it.  So even though this bass isn't totally original, at least it has a very close, period-correct pickup in it, which measures 10.43K ohms & sounds fantastic!  Master volume & tone controls with original knurled knobs.  Pots date to '62 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case:  Original hardshell case included.  The case shows wear & tear similar to the bass, but is still quite sturdy & serves its purpose well.
