Description
Cosmetic Condition: A rare vintage guitar with a very cool vibe. There are the typical signs of play wear - nicks, chips, dents & dings along with various surface scratches. There is a crack in the top of the body, upper bout, next to the pickguard. The crack has been professionally glued & cleated. There's another smaller crack in the bottom of the body, near the end pin, that has not been repaired. The neck was reset, and the original saddle & end pins were replaced. The neck angle is good, and the guitar plays well up & down the fingerboard. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorge patina. It's been professionally set up by us with a fresh pack of strings & delivers a warm, rich tone.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with a beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original open-back, strip tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length.
Body: Solid spruce top in sunburst finish with 4-ply binding. Rosewood bridge with unoriginal saddle & end pins. Original tortoise pickguard has come unglued slightly around some of the edges, but is still very firmly attached to the guitar. Solid mahogany back & sides with single-ply back binding. 15 1/4" lower bout width; 4 1/4" depth. No pickup.
Case: Vintage hardshell case included along with an old Guild owner's booklet.
