Description
What makes this guitar special: A very rare 12-string in amazing condition for its age. This gorgeous guitar came out of the Marty J Rosenblum private collection. Marty, known by many as the Holy Ranger, had an exceptional collection of guitars & this beautiful Gibson 12-string is definitely one of the gems. It is completely crack free & in marvelous playing condition. The guitar delivers rich, clear, bell-like tones that seem to ring for days.
Cosmetic Condition: Cosmetically the guitar is in great shape overall. There are various minor nicks & dings; small finish chips, surface scratches & lots of cool weather checking throughout. There is a 2 pressed into the back the headstock just above the serial number, indicating the guitar was a factory second. However, there are no structural issues whatsoever with the instrument. The guitar has been professionally set up by us, so it plays & sounds just perfect!
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Mother of pearl triangle headstock inlays. The original tuners were replaced with very nice Schaller chrome tuners. The truss rod cover was replaced with a custom engraved chrome cover that reads Gibson B-45-12, 1964, 249545, Fuller Tone Bar, with the initial MRJ at the bottom. 2" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fingerboard.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought body with bound top & back. Solid spruce top finished in a cherry sunburst finish. The finish is very vibrant & really pops off of the guitar! Rosewood bridge with adjustable rosewood saddle & black end pins. The bridge was reglued to the top quite some time ago & is attached perfectly with no areas of lifting. Original tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides in trans cherry finish, looks simply gorgeous. There is no pickup & guitar weighs 5 lbs 7.8 oz.
Case: Vintage Gibson hardshell case included. The previous owner customized the outside of the case with a sheriff's badge & two plaques with his moniker.
