Description
What makes this guitar special: A superb player with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. Exceptionally resonant with a wide, flat profile neck that plays like a dream up & down the fretboard. The double P-90's sound fantastic & kick out some bad ass tones. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it's ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a couple of very minor stress cracks on either side of the headstock just below the tuners. They are both superficial & are purely cosmetic rather than structural. Overall the guitar has a great, well-played look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Wide, flat profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. The pearloid dot in the 21st fret is a replacement. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with newer grommets. The G tuner is slightly bent, but still functions properly. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod function fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body with compensated, wrap-around bridge & nickel hardware. 5-ply small black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks or warping. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 10.9 oz.
Electronics: Original P-90 single coils with black "soap bar" covers. Bridge - 7.80K ohms; Neck - 8.36K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with repro black "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '64 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original Gibson chipboard case included. The handle is broken, but the case itself is in good shape.
