Description
What makes this guitar special: An excellent player's grade Jazzmaster with a cool vintage vibe. Amazing tone & feel with a super comfortable neck. Killer sounding pickups deliver that classic Jazzmaster sound! Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play right out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical wear & tear for a 50-year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, semi-chunky maple neck with aged cream binding & black side dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. The guitar was refretted with medium jumbo frets which are in excellent condition with no wear. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition. Neck stamp reads 4 NOV 65 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in original 3-tone sunburst. Fender tremolo tailpiece with six-saddle adjustable bridge with original cover. The trem arm is unoriginal. The original 4-ply tortoise pickguard is included, but was routed in the middle for a single coil pickup. Aside from the route the guard is in great shape. The 4-ply tortoise guard that is currently on the guitar looks nice, however, and tastefully compliments the sunburst finish. A little bit of the wood was removed from the body between the two normal pickups when the single coil route was made in the guard. Overall it's not too bad & the current guard covers it. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 15.8 oz.
Pickups: Unoriginal black bottom neck pickup - 7.45K ohms. The neck pickup appears to be a newer vintage reissue. Original Grey bottom bridge pickup - 6.39K ohms. The pencil date on the bridge pickup reads 2-16-65. Unoriginal control knobs. There's a combination of both cloth & plastic wiring inside the control cavity connecting the pickups & pots. At least one pot date reads '64. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Unoriginal, but still vintage, hardshell case included.
