Description

What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful sounding Country Western! The tone is very warm and natural! A very nice DeArmond pickup system was added which offers a very nice amplified sound. Some modifications were made to the guitar to accommodate the pickup and some parts are unoriginal. This is ultimately a beautiful sounding vintage player’s grade Country Western and it has a very unique character!

Condition: Cosmetically there are plenty of scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking throughout the guitar; some of which are deep. There is some finish wear on the top that was clearly done by hand (see photos). The upper portion of the sound hole was cut square to accommodate the pickup. As can be seen in the picture, it was cut up to the brace and the work was amateur. This modification is not however affecting the structural integrity of the rest of the guitar. Control knobs were also added. The tuners and nut have been changed and the original screw holes are still visible. There is a large section of buckle rash on the back that has worn through to the bare wood and some of the finish has worn off of the back of the neck also. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with some heavier play wear and divots towards the lower registers. The neck is nice and straight and the truss rod functions perfectly. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.

Body: Double-bound body with a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge with height-adjustable ivoroid saddle. Dual control knobs, a three-point tortoise pickguard and multiple inlaid rings around the sound hole.

Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with a bound Rosewood fingerboard. Split pearloid inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Grover tuners, 24 ¾” scale length.

Pickups/Electronics: Passive DeArmond single-coil pickup with master volume and tone controls.

Weight: 5lbs, 5.2oz.

Case: Includes a vintage Gibson hardshell case.
