Description
What makes this bass special: A fantastic player's grade EB-3 with killer tone & feel! The original finish was stripped off quite some time ago, but the guts are straight. This is an early '65, with the wide-spacing control knobs. Professionally inspected & set up by Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: Good shape overall - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surfaces scratches & some finish wear. As previously mentioned, the original finish was stripped quite some time ago. There's a very tiny separation in the bass-side headstock flange, but nothing too serious. The pickguard has a velvet cover over it & the Veritone control plate is unoriginal. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a cool true vintage vibe.
Neck: Nicely rounded, semi-chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Open-back nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany SG-style body. Top-loading bridge with chrome hardware. Mute is missing. Black pickguard has an unoriginal velvet cover over it. Bass weighs 7 lbs 5.6 oz.
Electronics: Full-size neck humbucker & mini bridge humbucker with black bezel. 4-way rotary Veritone switch with unoriginal control plate. Dual volume & tone controls with unoriginal knobs. Both volume knobs are missing their inserts. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Newer Gibson hardshell case included.
