Description
What makes this guitar special: Super cool, true vintage player with killer looks & a dynamite sound! This beauty is mostly original aside from the bridge & tuners, which are both serious upgrades, making it a much better playing guitar. The single P-90 delivers bone-crushing tone & the guitar has a gorgeous acoustic resonance which makes it tons of fun to play! Professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action, this one is hard to put down!
Cosmetic Condition: Fabulous vintage vibe - this was obviously someone's go-to guitar & was well-played. There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear - all the hallmarks of a guitar that knows how to get the job done!
Neck: Nicely rounded, yet wide profile, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. The bass-side dot in the 12th fret is much lighter in color than all the others & is most likely a replacement. Original frets show some light wear & have plenty if life in them. The original strip tuners were replaced with nickel Grover Rotomatics which are a very common upgrade for this model & are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: One-piece, solid mahogany body finished in that iconic, classic cherry we all love. The original wrap-around tailpiece was replaced with an upgraded bridge with adjustable saddles, making the guitar much more intonatable. Original 2-ply black pickguard has a couple of small cracks, but fits in with the overall character of the guitar. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 0.7 oz.
Pickup: Original "dog ear" P-90 single coils with black cover - 7.80K Ohms. Master volume & tone controls with original black "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Newer Gibson hardshell case included.
