Description
What makes this guitar special: An ultra cool player's grade Junior with killer looks & a dynamite sound! The single P-90 delivers bone-crushing tone & the guitar has a gorgeous acoustic resonance which makes it tons of fun to play! Professionally set up by Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action; this one is hard to put down!
Cosmetic Condition: There's a professionally repaired crack at the base of the neck where it joins the body. The repair was very well done & there are no playability issues whatsoever. The original tremolo tailpiece was removed & the holes filled. The guitar has been completely refinished, and as a result the serial number is no longer present on the back of the headstock. There are signs of play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & finish wear (most notably on the treble side, lower bout). Overall the guitar has a great vibe & is a wonderful player.
Neck: Nicely rounded, slender profile mahogany neck. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. The Gibson logo on the headstock is a replacement, added after the guitar was refinished. The Kluson Deluxe tuners are newer & are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body in iconic cherry finish. The original tailpiece was removed with only the wrap-around bridge remaining. 3-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but does show some pick wear. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 12.4 oz. - great weight & very resonant!
Pickup: P-90 single coil with "dog ear" black cover - 8.34K Ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Padded gig bag included.
