Description
What makes this guitar special: 100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner who purchased the guitar brand new in '65. The guitar was kept in immaculate condition & comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity, OK Card & Gretsch care booklet. Even the original polish cloth is included! The walnut stain finish is still quite rich, with no fading & everything is in perfect working condition.
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition for its age - very well cared for & exceptionally clean with no "binding rot." There is some checking in the headstock overlay, along with various surface scratches and minor nicks & dings throughout the guitar. The gold hardware has tarnished somewhat, but overall it's in great shape with a gorgeous look & a beautiful patina.
Neck: Maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & red side dots. Ebony fingerboard with pearloid "thumbnail" inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width with zero fret; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-cutaway, maple body with simulated F-holes and multi-bound top & back. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with Rocking Bar bridge & double mute pads. Gold plexi pickguard with Gretsch logo. Back pad is in great shape with all its snaps. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 6.8 oz.
Pickups: Original Gretsch humbuckers - SuperTron neck & FilterTron bridge humbuckers. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls with "G" Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup & tone selector switches; 3-way standby switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. Also included with the guitar is its original polish cloth, COA, OK Card & Gretsch care booklet!
