Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is just an awesome sounding vintage Coronet with killer playability. The Coronet was originally marketed as an entry level guitar but became well known for its great design, sound and playability. This piece has a great sounding Dog Ear P-90, beautiful cherry finish and a super comfortable slender neck. This piece is from a larger collection of awesome vintage guitars we recently acquired and like many of the other guitars in the collection, this piece is in great playing shape and sounds fantastic.
Condition: Good overall shape for its age. There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking throughout the guitar with some buckle rash on the back. There is one larger finish blemish on the back of the neck that has worn through to the bare wood but it does not affect playability. Ultimately the guitar has a great vintage, worn in look and feel! The fingerboard and frets have only moderate play wear with some heavier wear towards the lower registers. The neck is super comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. The control knobs and pickguard are unoriginal though the original pickguard is included in the case. The original guard has black paint on the top (see photos). The original trem arm is missing though the vibrato tailpiece is otherwise intact. All electronics and parts are otherwise original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid mahogany body in cherry finish. Maestro Vibrola tailpiece and wrap-around bridge. Dual skirted control knobs with silver inserts and a 3-ply white pickguard.
Neck: Very nicely rounded, super comfortable slender mahogany neck. Rosewood neck with pearloid dot inlays and a 1 9/16” nut. Six-on-a-strip Kluson Delux tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24 ¾” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original Dog Ear P-90 single-coil pickup in the bridge with master volume and tone controls.
P-90: 6.13K Ohms.
Weight: 5lbs, 11.0oz.
Case: Includes the original chipboard case.
